Vertigo Causes Abnormalities in Skin Pigmentation
Two percent of the population has vitiligo, a disease that involves the appearance of white spots on the skin, sometimes large, and currently known as the causes of its emergence as an effective treatment of it. The dermatologist at the Hospital University Reina Sofia in Cordoba Jose Espejo explained to Efe that vitiligo is a loss of pigment symmetrically affects various parts of the body, typically the face, arms and legs. In people with vitiligo, the Melanocytes (cells responsible for skin pigmentation) die and stop producing melanin, a substance that causes skin color in the area where cell death has occurred. According to Espejo, almost half of people with vitiligo develop the disease before age 20, and 20 percent of cases a family member who has the disease. However, today there are no known causes that provoke it, but there are several theories about it, nor is there any treatment to ensure cure, since both issues are still under investigation, according to the dermatologist.
