One Response to Serotonin Foods

  • I wonder if it’s occured to anyone that the reason depression is becoming more and more prevalent is because people are eating far too much of this serotonin producing food. I mean, the foods that seem to produce the most serotonin are the very ones that also produce obesity and the ones that feature far too heavily in modern Western diets. Of course, the fact that they produce serotonin is probably what links them to severe obesity as people try to eat their way to being happier. However, an overabundance of serotonin can lead to serotonin insensitivity, thus in a sense causing depression. I supposed a bit of chocolate is better than overdoing it on refined flour or sugar, but it should still be carefully monitored.
